The Kowloon Cricket Club is Hong Kong’s leading and one of Asia’s most reputable and recognized Cricket Clubs. Boasting an internationally recognized cricket ground, being the home of the famous International Cricket Sixes and one of the most valuable cricket pitches in the world by land value, the KCC aims to continuously be the pioneer in ensuring the longevity of cricket in Hong Kong.
Founded in 1904, the KCC is situated in the bustling center of the Kowloon peninsula and continues its homage to its identity of providing an avenue for all individuals of all abilities to develop their skills and enjoy the beautiful game. Members have exclusive access to the KCC’s unique facilities, boasting the only turf training nets for private recreational clubs, in addition to our state-of-the-art health and fitness centers.
The KCC Junior Cricket Program is one of the most high-profile programs in Hong Kong, attracting a high volume of children of all ages, nationalities and abilities. Our program provides a solid pathway for those to hone and develop their skills, to then represent the KCC and Hong Kong throughout the Junior and Senior set ups. The KCC operates a number of highly qualified coaches who are well trained in group training and match specific situations, additionally offering a curated individual training program for those who request it.
It is a testament to our cricket programs across junior and senior cricket that the KCC continually has high numbers of representation at Hong Kong Men’s and Women’s National Cricket teams across all age groups.
Nigel Shroff – Captain of Cricket
Nigel Shroff is Head of Cricket at Kowloon Cricket Club and sits on the General Committee.
Nigel has represented KCC at all levels and is currently a member of the KCC Saturday League Crusaders team.
Nigel works closely with the Director of Cricket and Cricket Coaches to ensure the Cricket mandate at KCC continues to flourish at all levels.
Ashley Caddy – Director of Cricket
ASHLEY HAS BEEN A MEMBER OF THE KCC FOR 10 YEARS AND HAS PREVIOUSLY SERVED ON THE CRICKET COMMITTEE AS CHAIRMAN OF SELECTORS. ADDITIONALLY, ASHLEY WAS ALSO CAPTAIN OF OUR TEMPLARS DIVISION 1 SIDE, LEADING THEM TO MULTIPLE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLES.
WITH HIS PASSION AND COMMITMENT TO CRICKET, ASHLEY BRINGS GREAT ENERGY AND ENTHUSIASM TO THE SECTION. HE IS KEEN TO CONTINUE TO DEVELOP YOUNG CRICKETERS AS THEY START THEIR CRICKETING CAREERS. WITH HIS ECB LEVEL 2 COACHING CERTIFICATE, ASHLEY IS ALSO PASSIONATE ABOUT SUPPORTING THE KCC COACHES TO DELIVER THE BEST TRAINING IN HONG KONG ACROSS MEN AND WOMEN’S CRICKET.

WAQAS BARKAT – HEAD COACH
OUR HEAD COACH, WAQAS, BRINGS OVER 12 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE AND ENTHUSIASM TO BOTH OUR JUNIOR AND SENIOR CRICKET PROGRAMS. HE IS A KEY PILLAR IN OUR COACHING TEAM HERE AT KCC, ENSURING ALL OUR COACHES CONTINUE TO DRIVE OUR SUCCESS.
WAQAS’ APPROACH TO COACHING HAS ALSO LED TO HIM BEING APPOINTED AS HEAD COACH FOR THE HONG KONG NATIONAL U19’S TEAM. He IS ALWAYS DETERMINED TO UNDERTAKE NEW CHALLENGES and SPECIALises IN BATTING, FIELDING AND SPIN BOWLING.
IN ADDITION TO HIS COACHING, HE IS A CURRENT MEMBER OF THE HONG KONG NATIONAL MEN’S SQUAD AS WELL AS THE KCC PREMIER LEAGUE TEAM.

Junior Cricket
The pinnacle of what KCC has to offer is arguably our highly successful Junior Cricket Program. The program is perfect for boys and girls aged 4-17 of all skill levels and emphasizes maximum participation with small group sizes. Groups are tailor made based on experience, rather than just age – and as such offers a clear development pathway from Under-8’s all the way up to senior and national level.
The program offers the choice to train once or twice a week, plus the opportunity to participate in the Cricket Hong Kong league matches. All training sessions are led by our ICC qualified coaches, many of which are current or former Hong Kong national team players.

Men’s Cricket
For the last 10 years, KCC has been home to an array of men’s teams that have dominated the domestic scene at all levels. In the current Cricket Hong Kong (CHK) competition, there are six men’s teams across 3 divisions; one in the Friday Masters League (Knights), three in the Saturday League (Tartars, Crusaders and Saracens), and two in the stronger Sunday League (Templars and Infidels). The culmination of all this is the Premier League XI, with the eleven best players representing the club in the highest domestic competition available.
In the last 5 years alone, the club has won more men’s trophies than any other club in Hong Kong. These include the Premier League 50 over and T20 competitions, the prestigious Fincher and Hancock Shield, as well as numerous Saturday and Sunday League Championships. Regardless of whether you want to play socially or test your game against the best in Hong Kong, Kowloon Cricket Club is the place for you.

At Kowloon Cricket Club we take great pride in developing the women’s game in Hong Kong. Our KCC Maidens team plays in Hong Kong’s highest women’s league, competing against some of the best players in Hong Kong in both T10 and T20 competitions.
Our dedicated women’s training schedule and full-time women’s coach have helped us produce players to represent Hong Kong at national level. We also have a development XI team, which is a great introduction to the game for beginners.
