One of KCC’s strongest sports
THE HOCKEY SECTION IS ONE OF THE LARGEST SPORTING SECTIONS AT THE KCC WITH SEVEN ADULT TEAMS, AS WELL AS YOUTH TEAMS AND MINI-HOCKEY TEAMS. HOCKEY HAS BEEN PLAYED SINCE THE EARLIEST DAYS OF THE CLUB, WITH THE FIRST RECORDED MATCH ON 27TH JUNE 1908 AGAINST USRC. HOWEVER AN EFFORT TO INCLUDE A REPRESENTATIVE FROM THE HOCKEY SECTION ON THE GENERAL COMMITTEE WAS DEFEATED AND THIS LEADS TO A DECLINE IN INTEREST IN THE SPORT. IT WAS NOT FOR ANOTHER 50 YEARS THAT THE IDEA OF FORMING A KCC HOCKEY SECTION MATERIALISED DURING 1957-58 CAMPAIGN. THE HOCKEY SECTION IS A VERY ACTIVE GROUP AT KCC.
Our Mission
THE HOCKEY SECTION OF KCC STRIVES TO COMPETE AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL IN THE HOCKEY HONG CHINA ASSOCIATION LEAGUES. WE BRING TOGETHER MEMBERS AND FAMILIES AND FRIENDS INTERESTED IN HOCKEY. WE OFFER PLAYING OPTIONS FROM BEGINNERS TO THE PREMIER LEVEL, COVERING THE MINI, YOUTH, ADULT AND MASTERS GROUPS. OUR MEMBERS ARE ALSO ENCOURAGED TO DEVELOP AND GROW THROUGH PURSUING A RANGE OF COACHING, UMPIRING AND VOLUNTEERING OPPORTUNITIES. IN ADDITION TO PARTICIPATING IN THE HOCKEY GAMES, WE ALSO PROVIDE A PLATFORM FOR MEMBERS TO BOND, SOCIALISE AND CONNECT WITH THE WIDER KCC COMMUNITY, AND THE OTHER SPORTING ATHLETES AND CLUBS IN HONG KONG AND OVERSEAS.

THE HOCKEY SECTION VALUES SPORTSMANSHIP AND AIMS TO GROW AND DEVELOP WITH OUR MEMBERS AND THE OTHER SECTIONS OF THE CLUB. THEREFORE, WE ENCOURAGE PARTICIPATION AND CONTRIBUTION FROM OUR MEMBERS WHILE OFFERING EACH MEMBER EQUAL AND FAIR OPPORTUNITIES TO THE SPORT AND THE SOCIAL EXPERIENCE WITH THE SECTION AND THE CLUB.
Our Community
The Hockey Section is a diverse and vibrant community open to all interested members and families. We promote inclusivity and welcome all forms of participation, both on the playing field and beyond. Opening Hours
• HOCKEY HAS SECTION MEETINGS AT 7PM ON THE FIRST WEDNESDAY OF EVERY MONTH.
• CLUB TRAINING IS SCHEDULED EVERY WEDNESDAY ON THE KCC GROUND OR INDOOR SPORTS HALL.

Mini and Youth Hockey Programme
September – June
Tentative training schedules at KCC, twice weekly:
- Sunday Morning – Training either indoor or outdoor or both
September & October / May & June
- U4 & U6: 8-9am at indoor sports hall
- U8: 9-10am at indoor sports hall
- U10: 8-9:15 am on grass pitch
- U12 and youth: 8-9:15 am on grass pitch
November to April
- All ages: 8-9:15 am on grass pitch
June Inddor (while KCC Grass pitch is closed)
- U6: 8-9am at indoor sports hall
- U8: 9-10am at indoor sports hall
- U10: 10-11am at indoor sports hall
- U12 and Youth: 11am-12 noon at indoor sports hall
- Wednesday Afternoon – training in the 1/F KCC indoor hall
- U4 & U6 U6: 4-5pm
- U8: 5-6pm
- U10 & U12: 5:30 -7pm – Includes 30 minutes warm up
- Youth will join Adults (7-9pm either KCC indoor or KCC grass or AIS )
- Summer Programme (separate programme and fee) follows the June indoor Sunday and Wednesday schedule above for July and August. Both training days are in the KCC indoor hall.
Programme Fees
- 10 month programme (September – June)
- Members: $1500
- Member’s Guests (non-members): $4000
- Pro-rata for those who join late
- Register before 1 Feb will entitle players to a free end-of-season meal
- Free trials (sticks and shin pads can be borrowed on request).
- Payment by cheque to ‘Kowloon Cricket Club’ – put player name on the back of the cheque with programme name or Transfer (details on request).

2-month ‘Summer programme’ is a separate registration and fee

Mini Hockey Touramanents (MHT)
- November – April
- Typically 9 nos of tournaments
- U6, U8, U10 and U12 competitions
- Generally Cup , Plate and Bowl
- Generally medals for winners and runner up
- Generally Saturday mornings 9 – 1:30
- KCC Mini Hockey Festival (MHF) is on 1st Sunday in March – 9am – 2pm
- Minimum age 4 years old for tournament, unless agreed with head coach.
